A Pornhub Subsidiary, Tube8 To Pay Its Viewers In Cryptocurrency

Adult entertainment streaming website and Pornhub subsidiary, Tube8, which has more than 150 million visits to its page in a month, is now looking to put the full platform on a blockchain network.

The company revealed in a publication sent exclusively to Hard Fork that it had reached a collaboration with Vice Industry Token (VIT) in order to tokenize the website completely. This partnership will allow users to be able to earn VIT coins for streaming and interacting with videos on Tube8.

The implementation of the VIT tokens to the platform is anticipated to be completed by the end of the current year. This new development means that Tube8 is now set to be the very first major adult platform that is taking up alt-coin rewards and use them to pay their consumers for spending time on the website.

The adult entertainment industry has always had a progressive reputation of adopting technological advancements early on. This is a reputation that they have earned and has a solid backing by a long record of leading technological innovations. Therefore it isn’t surprising that Tube8 has taken in this role in keeping the tradition alive.

With the huge amount of traffic that the site gets, Tube8’s new policy can definitely lead the mass adoption of digital currencies.

“For as long as I can remember, getting paid to watch porn was always a pipedream; one that was always dreamed about, but never fully realized,” said Robin Turner, spokesperson from Tube8. “Now however, with the introduction of VIT, we are marking a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment,”

The website hasn’t yet explained how it will calculate the rewards, we can assume that it will set a few limits in order to keep users from cheating the system for gains.
